just picked up the car having had a Saab rebuild 5 speed put in (pinion bearing problem). the cost was significantly more than expected. one of the motor mounts was replaced - $170?? eeuroparts doesn't show one that much - is that right?
I was told it would be difficult to shift as it broke in - this is consistant with the last rebuild I had done on another car. well I drove out and couldn't get it into second. I went back, afraid I was going to bend the shifter. he told me he already contacted Saab having experienced the same thing, but they assured him it was like that until the syncros broke in. but I literaly can't go from 3rd to 2nd, so I'm not sure how I can break that syncro in if I can barely move it.
anyone have comments? thanks, Brian
