My 92 900 non turbo 5 sp has suddenly developed a nervous, jittery twitch when the car goes over bumps in a turn, nothing dramatic, just an unsettling feeling as if something is loose. I use the car for my 15 mile one way suburban commute. Runs fine otherwise.
Squared off the tire pressures as the low temps makes things go flat (31 front, 30 rear), checked the front end for loose ball joints, tie rods and worn bushings (all replaced three years/40,000 miles ago) and nothing looks bad. Bushings in the rear control arms were replaced about the same time three years ago. Recent changes were two worn out Michelin MXV 4s replaced at front with two of the same brand/type lesser worn tires taken off this car a couple of years back , all tires about 50% evenly worn. Never noticed anything until this bitter cold weather hit. Crosswinds make things worse. Car has never been hit and I'm usually pretty good at this stuff, but this has me stumped.
Right front shock bumper stop is split so maybe its the shocks? But the loose feeling seems to come from the rear. No rust on the underside, car has been garaged most of its life. Shocks were replaced with Boge turbogas at about 130,000, have 190,000 now. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance
