I have the same problem. I thought it was because of the snow/cold but I'm not so sure anymore. It's been getting up into the 60s in Oklahoma. My antenna still sticks every once in awhile. My issue is never in the same place. Making me think there's some dirt in it getting caught every once in awhile.
I have rebuilt the motor/gears and couple times and I even replaced the shaft, which I got from Andrews. (Very nice OEM)
The other thing I have heard to do is wiping it down every time you fill up the tank. I have also heard mix reviews on whether or not to use WD-40. It helps lube the shaft but at the same time it collects dirt from the air.
I hope all this helps, I figure it's an on going battle to keep it working.
