proper flush for radiator install?

I hope that the steam coming from the front grille of my c900 is either melting snow or a failed radiator. The new radiator (Nissens, plastic and aluminum) arrived from eeuroparts today with specific instructions that I should flush the cooling system with water before installing the new radiator. Mention was given by nissens that phosphate based antifreezes corrode the aluminum radiator grille.
I had the coolant system almost completely drained this summer when the engine was out and refilled with Prestone ethylene glycol (green) coolant. So, do I need to flush my system with water? If it were summer I wouldn't hesitate, but I live in minnesota, and right now the outside temperature is -1 F. My garden hose is frozen and buried in snow and I'm reluctant to lug buckets of water out to the car.
Should I wait? Is the flush important?
