No I did not, I set the engine on wood to protect the tube. I did make sure the pickup was centered in the sump during install. I may have bent the tube however. I will be taken the engine trans apart again to see whats what. Thanks for the post. By overfilling the sump it would seem to flood the inlet to the oil pump. When braking the oil moves forward cause the pump to injest air and the pressure drops rapidly then recovers on stop.
Back to by more gaskets and seals :(
