There is a good chance that your wheel bearing was damaged by the loose nut. However, tightening the hell out of the nut will not hurt the bearing. Drive the car as is for awhile and if you get some roughness or rumbling that varies when turning, then you will need a new wheel bearing. Not an emergency, but within a few weeks/months.
If the axle nut became fairly loose, there is a chance that you will also need a new hub. The inner end of the axle stub gets "spun" in the bearing race and if you put a new bearing in without a new hub, the bearing will not last. If you didn't catch the loose nut soon enough and the bearing goes, you can easily tell if you need a new hub when you remove the steering knuckle for bearing replacement. If when you turn the hub, the axle stub turns inside the inner bearing race on the backside, the hub is toast. the axle stub should fit very tightly in the bearing race.
