When it's *that* cold, the first things I'd consider (having spent some 35 years in Syracuse NY), would be spark plugs and spark plug wires. I've had a few winter occasions where the car (including my '88 900S) would run great in the morning going to work and not start when it's time to head home. The time with the 900S, it started right up after replacing the spark plugs.
First, check for spark at the the spark plug wires. If you don't have spark, go to the site I've linked to below. I'd bet that either the ignition amplifier is bad or that the crank sensor has given up the ghost. Either one of them can go bad without much warning.
If you have spark and the spark plugs are wet with gas from all that cranking, you may want to just change the spark plugs and get that over with. To clean out the gas in the cylinders, I'd recommend that you pull the fuel pump relay, pull the plugs, and crank it a few times for 10-15 seconds to ventilate the cylinders. Then, put the fuse and the plugs and see if it starts.
Those few things cover most of the no start conditions (except for cooked ECU - I hope you don't have that condition.)
