I don't think that'd be such a bad idea, although $300 (after shipping, etc) is an awful lot of money. From what I read, it sounds like people are generally happy with the Saabstuff seat covers. If the color difference is your concern, you just have to ask yourself which is worse: worn out seat (and fatter wallet) or a little color mis-match.
You might consider trying to find a good used seat and scavenging the cover, and bear in mind that the driver's and passenger's side covers ARE THE SAME, so you could use a good, less-worn passenger's side seat. You might ask Saabstuff if they'd sell you just the bottom, if your seat back is in good shape and you want to save some money.
On my car ('85 900T), the seat bottom (burgundy leather) was in really bad shape, so I took it off, went to the fabric store, bought some similar vinyl. I took the old cover off, cut it apart, made a pattern, and made my own seat bottom. The color's not exactly the same, but I'd rather have that than the shredded cover that was on there, and it only cost me about $30 (with materials to spare). I was surprised at how easy the seat skins are to remove and install. Good luck! If you buy the Saabstuff cover, let us know how you like it.
