Sorry to hear that you are experiencing problems in regard to steering. There are a couple of possibilities that come to mind, although I'm certain there are other issues to be addressed in addition to these. First and foremost, take note of the outdoor temperature when you are experiencing these problems, as well as the amount of time the car has been driven. In cold conditions, power steering can get a little temperamental. Even though the power steering fluid appears to be full, it's the actual circulation of the fluid involved in this scenario. Until the car warms up and the power steering fluid circulates through the system, there can be some vibration present. Another possibility is that the power steering pump is going bad. I somewhat doubt this is the case, as you seem to be retaining the power steering fluid quite well. If there is any whine/moan coming from the power steering pump when you turn at a stand-still, this is a good indication that you need to have the pump seen about. The replacement of the pump is fairly inexpensive and not overly-complicated for a savvy do-it-yourself individual. I had a 1987 900S with power steering problems and I was forced to drive my current 1990 900 Turbo without power steering for about a week, so I can definitely relate to your potential frustration. I apologize if I have not been of great aid in determining and diagnosing your problem, but I noticed that no one had responded to your original posting as of yet. If you have any questions regarding the aforementioned, please feel free to ask. Good luck, drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
