Hi Group,

Have used this Saab resource many times in the past - thanks to all of you who so graciously (well, most of the time ...) enlighten us with your Saab knowledge - especially since most of our questions are repeats. Which brings me to my Subject line . . .

I searched through the BB and learned much about my pre-'88 SPG wheel and center caps. In a nutshell : I bought a set of used SPG wheels, and paid $250, contingent that center caps are included. When the deal is made - no center caps. Got some - which I know now - lame excuse, and a promise to send them to me via mail. After 3 more months, I get 4 center caps - and foolish me, assume they are the right ones. After powder-coating the rims silver-metallic, and buying $25 in spray paint to match the center caps, I find they don't fit. I have 3 different part numbers out of 4 center caps - and one has TWO part numbers.

All 4 fit my 15-spoke "starburst" wheels, but I have caps for them. So they are for the '88-on series wheels, and not large enough (in the middle) to fit my wheels. Where can I get correct ones? Do I contact every Saab dealer and/or used parts place I can find? That may be my only recourse, but I thought I'd at least ask here and maybe streamline my search, instead of stumbling around blindly and hoping . . .

TIA,

Todd R.

PS And hopefully when this is resolved, I'll sit down and share a funny Saab Story with ya'll. How do I know it's funny? My friends - who aren't even Saab geeks - are still telling it to strangers 25 years later . . . and it's partly due to Saab's own quirkiness, which should resonate with this crowd. ;)
