The NTC has a margin for error of 5 or 10 percent so it won't be exact. I just went through this and what I found is that it really is a system and unless EVERYTHING is working, you will have problems. Check for vacuum leaks of course. My biggest one was the turbo bypass valve. As far as the AMM goes, it could be bad and your car will run. Take a multimeter and hook it to the O2 sensor and check the voltage. If it isn't swinging back and forth around .5 volts only then should you adjust the AMM. 380 ohms is a suggested starting point but mine is nowhere near that when it works. Plus on my AMM there is only one spot in a rotation of the adjustment screw. I only mention that because your AMM can be pretty messed up nad still work. After all of that, though what really made the difference was a new fuel pressure gregulator along with rebulding my AIC as it was only working in one direction. Car starts, runs, idles great but it took replacing/fixing everything.
