I didn't think the 91 900 had a prepump. Didn't the pump switch to walbro with a scavenger in 90? Maybe only turbos?

If you have a big plastic fluted ring on the top of you pump opening(left), you have a Walbro pump and do not have a prepump. If so, you can just replace the pump for alot less than the whole cage. Be careful pulling the cage and replace any hoses that look bad.

The hardest part is getting the ring off. Either whack tabs with a hammer and big screwdriver, or better, use the handles of a large channel lock in the tabs and twist with a vice grip on the jaw end of the channel lock.

Make sure you have a check valve in the supply line elbow, If not, you will need to replace the open elbow with a check valve version. It is very hard to jam the barbs of the elbow into the hard fuel line. Easier to fashion a jumper hose out of high pressure fuel line hose that will fit over the line and the elbow barbs. Cut old elbow nipple off to leave nipple in fuel line. By doing this, you will not crush the hard fuel line when you clamp the jumperhose over the hard line. Be sure to get a new o-ring for the top seal.
