When installing the new rack, the crappy plastic ties holding the boots on proptly popped off. Do yourself a favor and replace the ties with some heavy duty ones (very snug) to avoid this annoyance. Little things make a difference after holding your scraped arms in the air for two hours.
Also, when connecting the steering shaft to the rack, lube it first and don't forget to align the notch on it with the bolt location on the pinch coupling. Mine took forever to seat the first time, but after a beer break the rack shaft slipped right on.
