If you read the Saab high-mileage list, I believe the highest one is an '89 SPG with 760,000 miles on it. There's no telling how much has been pu into that car, but given the extremely high miles, it couldn't have been too much unless the guy's a millionaire. My experience with Saabs has been mixed. When I was a bit younger, I bought my first one, an '86 that had taken a total beating from its previous, teenage owner. That car was in the shop almost once a week. I decided to buy another one, an '88 900s. That car required very little maintainance (despite the fact that i bought it at 185,000 miles) and at 200,000, i drove from Boston to LA and back. Now, at 215,000 miles, my brother still drives it. I currently have an '89 spg that I bought last summer with 168,000 miles on it and now it has 179,000. I've barely had to do anything to it which is good because I'm a college student and I don't do too much of my own work. The key is maintainance and a good mechanic.
