Honestly, I doubt classic 900's will become more valuable as a general rule. I love them though.
People have always been saying they can't work on this new technology in cars. An example is people who like carburetted engines said we can't easily tinker with electronic fuel injection, but we successfully tinker with fuel injected engines. In fact, I feel more comfortable tweeking something electronic and fuel injected than a carburetted system. Maybe that's because I'm not part of that older generation.
You will always be able to get parts, but they will become more expensive. Enthusiasts will start "lumping" the cars with different engines when engine parts become too obscure and difficult to obtain.
I'm thinking about the future. Someday my 88 900T will either crash or get worn out. I don't want ABS or stability control. I figure if whatever I replace this car with has anoying features that can't be disabled I could replace those systems. I.E., if the brakes can't do non-ABS, I could rip whole brake system out, sell it or save it for the next owner, and put in more generic racing parts.
