Whatcha do is this ...
(Assuming that you've read the instructions on the Townsend Imports website - it's down right now, but you can try it later if you haven't read it.)
Loosen the pinch bolt on the shifter coupling and pry open the sleeve so it moves freely. (I found that the fastest way for me to get to the pinch bolt is to have the front of the car up on jackstands and lie under the engine with my feet to the front of the car. Then reach back between the engine and the downpipe with my right arm, threading it around the various pieces as necessary. I use a shortie 1/4" ratchet because of the clearances.)
With the pinch bolt loosened and moving freely on the shift shaft, put a drill bit in the indexing hole on the shifter assembly (in the passenger compartment), get back down under the car and pull back on the shift rod where it comes out of the transmission (right in front of the coupler.) that puts it in third. Tighten the pinch bolt on the coupler.
Wipe the grease, grit, blood, etc off your hands, take the drill bit out of the indexing hole, and test the shift lever. If it doesn't bind, you're all done.
