When was the last time you changed spark plugs, spark plug wires (Bougicords or Magnecorse only), distributor cap & rotor.
If those are all new and the problem is still occuring, take a look at the hose clamps and rubber boots on the ducting between the turbo discharge and the throttle body. If you have loose hose clamps or deteriorating boots on the ducts, you can get the bucking you describe on acceleration. You may want to take the boots off and roll them in your hand to inspect them for splits and delamination.
As far as going between base boost goes, it can be a number of things, including using non-OEM spark plug wires, sticky APC solenoid, bad knock sensor, bad knock sensor cable, sticking brake light switch, and so on.
You'll want to go to the Basic Boost FAQ on TSN.
