like mudpuppy says, drill and tap with what ever suits your fancy. Bottom line is the manifold comes off.

I have 'heard' thru an old timer, legend has that you can drill in place if you load the drill bit with axel grease. The metal chips should stick to the grease and not fall into the water jacket. Same tip with the tap. Is it worth the risk? NO

Or, find a >85 intake manifold and simply replace your 85. I did this, you may have to re-route a few vac. lines as the 85 intake phelum is unique big time. One bonus is that the AIC bushing/elbow is now an off the shelf part verses the unique 85.

Your local indie should have the later intakes for cheap.
