intake manifold vacuum connection order Posted by Saabu [Email] (#1133) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabu) on Tue, 2 Mar 2004 12:55:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
hi all,
I own an 87 SPG.
I just noticed that the bypass valve had no vacuum line connection to the intake manifold. someone had simply put a cap on the valve's nipple. I dont think it will work too well that way...
I'm hoping someone can give me definitive info on this. i've searched TSN BB but not got anything conclusive. I also looked thru Bentley but could not find detail on it.
i need to know which components should be hooked up in front (ie upstream) of throttle plate and which ones should be behind.
fpr
brake booster ( obviously downstream)
line to dash instruments, cut off valve, etc
valve cover breather line
vacuum reserve canister
vacuum advance
carbon canister (drivers side front wheel well)
turbo bypass valve
In addition, i note that a recent poster on this board said your engine should stall if you take the oil filler cap off, implying that there needs to be vacuum in the crankcase for the engine to run. Heres the post.

Well, my engine actually produces a slight amount of exhaust from the tube, which in my mind makes more sense as its pushing air out the PCV line when the cap is on.
What is correct?
thanks in advance,
