is more of a low growl, no vibration. I just finished my inner driver replacement last Saturday. You must check the inner driver for cupping on the wear surfaces. Even a small amount of cupping is magnified with the drive line spinning as fast as it does.
fwiw your '85 should have the early style or small tripod. You can tell by the three rings on the inner driver. The larger or post mid '86 has only two rings on the outside of the inner driver.
While none of this is rocket science, you need to be comfortable removing your spindle, drive axel, working with snap ring pliers & the grease & dirt around the inner driver.
