You'd want to start with a decent 3/8" drive metric socket set (I like Craftsman tools, if only because they'll replace anything you break.) A set of 1/4" drive sockets comes in handy for things like hose clamps and some of the smaller fasteners on trim parts.
If you don't have any of the tools from the original tool kit, a set of torx bits and a 1/4" handle are absolutely necessary.
A strap wrench is a handy tool for loosening the oil filter.
A 1/2 inch torque wrench is necessary for tightening lug bolts.
A 1/2" breaker bar is a good thing to have for loosening lug nuts and other difficult fasteners.
In your neck of the woods (the rust belt), a can of a penetrant like Kroil or PB Blaster is an absolute necessity.
A cheapie digital multimeter is good for tracing basic electrical problems. Expensive ones have more features and better scan rates so you can monitor things like O2 sensor voltage swings more accurately.
An inexpensive floor jack is handy and a set of jackstands is an absolute must.
As far as ramps go, some people like them and others think that they're dangerous. One of the problems with a 900T or SPG is that the chin spoiler is so low that it makes it impossible to drive up ramps without damaging something, whereas it's no problem on a base 900 or 900S. It's not quite so bad to back up ramps with a 900T or SPG.
For doing engine oil changes, you don't need ramps. The drain plug is easily accessible and there is enough room to slide a collection pan under the drain.
