I think $3000 for a 91'T with 100K on it is actually on the low side. I paid $5000+ last year for a 92'T with the same number of miles. The car I bought was almost perfect and had been owned by a dealer tech. Despite this I've had to do some minor stuff like a fan switch, thermostat, and the exhaust work I'm in the middle of now. Ugh. And the AC that the previous owner converted still isn't working. But it's a great, safe and fast car. And the cost of ownership for the last year is a lot less than my previous 89' with similar miles. I bought the 89' from a reputable dealer, drove it a lot, and put a lot of money into it. My point is that you should heed everyone else's advice and look the car over carefully or have someone else do it for you. But also don't be afraid to spend a little more for a well maintained car that has records -- even records of the small stuff. The first time you do anything routine, even brakes and rotors, or a muffler and a tune-up, on the $3000 car you'll wish you'd paid a little more. As for the AC, even if it works now it won't work for long, and once it goes it's not cheap to fix -- converted or not. Make sure the sunroof opens!
