If it was driven without transmission oil, you might be in for a new trans or rebuild. Pray(really hard) that it was sitting for a long time and there was a slow trans leak.
The clutch shares the brake master resevoir for fluid. First check that there is fluid in the resevoir. I would suck out the old fluid and put in fresh, for bleeding.
Next you want to find the source of a possible leak.
Either slave cylinder, master cylinder of line connecting the two. Look under the dash and find the rod leading to the clutchpedal from the master. Look of leaks inside the car from this area under the carpet.
Then, follow the tube and hose going to it from the clutch master(under the brake master against firewall) to the slave cylinder. Look for a leak where the hard line connects to a hose. You might be able to detect a slave cylinder leak by checking for brake fluid drips at the hole under the flywheel. This may be difficult if there are other leaks under there. If you can't tell, remove the plastic clutch cover and look for signs of leakage directly under the slave.
If you find no leaks, you can bleed a number of ways. I prefer to pressure bleed from the resevoir. Either buy a pressure bleeder($40) or make one. You can use an old bike tube. Cut about one foot on either side of the valve. Seal up one end with glue or just clamp it between two popsicle sticks with a vise grip. Stretch the other end over the resevoir threads and seal with a hose clamp. Pump up to a 4 inch balloon size. then open the bleeder valve down at the slave. A flare wrench is good to have for this. Pump the pedal a couple of times while the fluid is coming out of the bleeder. Once the bubbles stop and fluid runs clear the clutch is bled. See if it works. If still no good, you may have shot seals in the clutch master. You can try a rebuild kit but you may be better off with a complete rebuilt master cylinder, because the bores get pitted and can tear the new seals from a seal kit.
Now you should be good to check out the tranny. If it works in all gears and doesn't make a loud droning wine in 4th and 5th, you might be very lucky.
