My '88 8v has a problem with idling. It will start fine then idle fine for about a minute. After driving a couple of blocks and coming to a stop, it will want to die. I have to give it gas to keep it from stalling. If I drive until the engine is good and warmed up, about 3 miles of in town, it will idle fine. I am thinking that the AIC valve might be sticky/dirty. But, the only Bentley that I have is for the 16v and from what I read in there it seems that valve is different than on the 8v, but I could be wrong.
So anyways, does this sound like it should fix it?
And, is there anything special I should do on an 8v vs. 16v?
And, what is a good method for cleaning the valve? I have never done this and am going in without experience doing it. I am plannin on using some carb cleaner to clean it, but do I need to lubricate anything? If so what with?
Thanks
