I think I got it now!

I checked continuity across pin 3 with a known ground and there was continuity so it must be grounded.
I then went to the 3 pin conncector ahead of the driver's door at the engine side and checked the black wire for ground in the same manner. There was no continuity so I thought maybe this one was not the ground at this connector. I then checked the other pins and voila! The passenger door and the trunk unlocked! I tried the other pin and and they unlocked!
I am therefore assuming that the black wire at this connector should be grounded as is probably the source of my woes. I may try to trace it (I think it goes to the bottom of the main fusebox) and correct it to keep things tidy or simply bypass it with a new ground.
One last question: Does the drivers door simply has a switch to activate the other two motors and not a motor itself?
Thanks for all your help!
