Pry up the window switch panel.
From the back, pull off the connector.
Then, rock the switch back & forth until it pops out.
Now use a small screwdriver or blade to separate the top & bottom. Immediately you will be able to tell if 1) the contacts are burned & pitted or 2) the contacts are burned AND the switch leg(s) are melted.
If you have #1 situation, just file/sand down the contacts for a smooth, shiny surface. If you have #2 situation, the switch needs a new leg(s). The plastic legs pop out and are spring loaded. They are interchangeable between switches.
The metal contacts set into the swith in only one direction, and pivot just like a see-saw at the park. There is an extra contact for the driver's side for the one-touch down feature to work.
Lay the contacts down where they go, then lineup the switch top - they have an orientation with a ridge and a notch, and snap together. It should work just fine for awhile...with all the current going through the switch, it is the nature of it to not last very long.
Now that I typed all that, I should say that I was surprised to find that brand new switches are only $11 and I might pick up a few myself!!!
