is what you have. It will likely also fail to return to run after being turned to start position, and your starter will stay engaged while engine is running - not good. Live with it or replace it, not feasible to fix it. Replacing it is not too hard; you do have to make a special tool (modified socket) that looks cool, but you will never use again. If you decide to replace it, you will end up with different keys for doors and ignition... Unless you either a.) have the plastic bit which has the key code, so that the dealer can order a lock cylinder that will match the existing one, or b.) take the same number off the underside of the ignition lock cylinder once it is out of the car.
