I think the easiest way with engine in would be to move AC compressor out of the way and remove waterpump. Then you might have enough room to see oil pump.
working from below would be faster - but probably also impossible to see things - especially if you're not familiar.
I would pay a mechanic to do this in car.
be sure you do crankshaft seal at the same time. Think about replacing main crank pulley (harmonic balancer) at same time.
