Just had the same issue...drove 11 miles exactly, no lights or ANY other electrics...battery was pretty healthy...drove til the first missfire which happened to be the street I live in...lucky! The elec. ignition on these cars does use a fair amount of power. Maybe if you had a brand new battery in the trunk to take with you, I'd try...otherwise have your folks make a trip!
