What to do when changing valve cover? Posted by Saabpilot [Email] (#134) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabpilot) on Fri, 9 Apr 2004 06:45:45 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Okay, I admit it. I'm narcicisstic. I just bought a used valve cover on Ebay for my '87 900T convertible because my original black paint on my valve cover looks bad. I intend to either a) paint it red or b) buff it to shiny so as to make my engine compartment look better. This is strictly an appearance issue and yes, I know it's vain.
My question is, aside from replacing the valve cover gasket is there anything else I might want to consider doing "while I'm in there?" The car has 86k miles and no known engine problems other than a slight oil leak (not from the valve cover) and an intermittent vacuum leak (already bought silicone hoses for entire engine).
Thanks for any advice you might have.
