Alex,
My Mom's 1990 base 900 does this. The ABS accumulator (for pressure?) must be at or above a certain pressure or the pump runs (dash ABS lights on, too). When the car has been sitting overnight or for several hours, the pressure can bleed down gradually.
When you first start Mom's '90, it takes about 20 sec. or so for lights to go off. (If you listen closely, you'll hear the ABS pump running.)
I WOULD worry if the lights come on while you're driving--the ABS pump might be malfunctioning or the accumulator might be on its way out (leaking pressure down too fast). But if light come on at startup only and go out soon after, the lights shouldn't cause too much concern.
However, I'm NOT an ABS expert, by any means. Wait for others to chime in on this topic...
