It sounds like you have a problem that may result in a great deal of entertainment. You didn't say if the problem has reappeared since the "tow fix".
You must be very systematic diagnosing the problem, because it could end up being a dozen different causes. Take a look on townsendimports.com to see the LH2.4 related problems.
You will need a voltmeter for this work (which means you need someone to crank for you while you are checking voltage). This will give you a definitive answer as to whether the fuel pump relay is closing, and that will tell you what direction to go from there. There is no sense in trying to guess, the list of possibilities is too long. Bad Hall effect sensor, bad relay, ignition problem, bad ECU ground, etc. will all result in the FP relay not closing. And bad FPR, wiring problem, etc. may be the cause if the relay is closing.
