Sometimes it can be possible to open up the air aux valve a little bit more, but it might have been done already.
Maybe it's time for a new air aux valve.
It is a 7mm nut on top of the valve that holds the air plate in shack. Open the nut and look at the air plate, try to move the nut in a direction that opens the gap a little bit more. Engine/valve has to be cold/room temp when this is done.
It is very difficult with words to try to describe how it's done, and it only takes a few minutes to do when you know how to do it.
950 RPM is desirable when engine is warm and if you can get the cold start idle up there or even higher the better it is.
The 8 valve engine is really finnicky when it comes to cold start settings and having a clean throttle body is a must at all times.
