There is a chance that the key stuck in start after the engine was running. The yellow wire that goes up to the solenoid is not fused and will then get very hot. Adjacent wiring gets melted in the harness that goes from the ignition switch up along the driver's side of the center console to the bulkhead connector(152a). Frequently, the 152a connector will get distorted from heat. All of this can disable the dash lights and and screw up engine electronics from the ignition to the AMM, and ECU.
You might be able to verify this problem without peeling up the driver's side carpet. Look in the engine compartment and find the yellow wire that goes to the starter solenoid spade tab. Check the condition of this wire up to the fuse box. If the insulation looks distorted, I would say that you are in for a wire harness restoration.
BTDT and it will take a weekend the first time you do it. Basically you have to remove the driver's seat and the center console, peel up the carpet and unwrap the harness to repair the wiring. You can pull apart the melted together wires and tapeup the bare spots.
