16V- 2.1L NA 900i- This is Interesting!
I recently replaced the ECU on this vehicle after a non start condition presented. Prior to replacing ECU, engine had spark, fuel pressure but as best as I could determine, no power to injectors. All ignition timing is correct and no leaks in intake system and engine is in good condition.
Followed Bentley detailed fault finding procedure with ECU removed and all checked OK.
Since replacing ECU , have determined whilst cranking that system relay and fuel pump relay are operational and power to #5 on the AMM. Engine cranks but no start and/ or fire at all.
In desperation unplugged and removed AMM completely. Engine started and runs at 1900- 2100 RPM hunting quite quickly.
What does this mean/ what is the problem.
Prior to this occurring engine had a history of starting at approx 1400 rPM and then dropping back to correct idle speed. Has always been a little unstable compared to my other Saab or same vintage (not here to change out parts with. Immediately prior to no start event , had been working on replacing clutch mater cylinder to slave cylinder line if that provides a clue
