P/S Hose O-Rings

I just went to assemble my rebuilt Maval P/S rack with a set of new hoses from EEuroparts. The new hoses came with a couple of o-rings for the ends. I had no problems with the return hose, but the high pressure hose keeps chewing up the o-rings. At a very low torque (like 5 ft-lbs) the o-ring gets the outer half neatly chopped off. If you look at the inside of the port on the steering rack, it seems there is a chamfer where the o-ring is designed to sit. In my case, the o-ring is getting forced past the chamfer deeper into the bore. Does this indicate a problem with the port on the rack, or the new P/S hose? Also, I now need new o-rings, and by quickly measuring them they seem to be a standard 2-011 size. Anybody know if that is correct?
