its a lot of work in a difficult area of access Posted by Saabu [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Oil leaking from oil cooler, Wes, Tue, 20 Apr 2004 08:34:17 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
but depends on how keen you are. best solution would be to take the whole thing out of the car and get new hoses attached (might as well do both). You dont need high presssure hoses so dont go overboard. engine oil pressure is not that high.
or else clean off the dirty oily line and try and see exactly where its leaking (ie at filter connection or at actual cooler). perhaps tightening the connections will fix it.
IIRC from an earlier post when i inquired, Anders of Swedecar recommends not disconnecting the steel curved connections at the oil filter - rather, leave them intact and replace the hose where it connects to the curved connector.
Be prepared when you look in the engine bay and under the drivers side of the car - over time that oil leaks down and accumulates all over the engine bay and underneath car, but the good news is it does a hell of a job of preventing rust!!!
