Well yes, it is a tad tight. It's not that hard a job, but depending on what you have for tools and patience, it may be worth it to let him do this. Parts involved are simply the crank seal ("Front Main Seal" yes, i know it's in the rear.), and a (molded) rubber o-ring that seals between the oil pump and timing-cover (engine).
Getting the crank-bolt free is the only real problem, I don't remember what size the bolt is, but it will require a quite short socket in order to do this in the car.
Option 1) you have a friend, and remove the clutch cover, they can use a prybar on the ring gear to keep the crank from turning while you use a breaker bar on the crank bolt.
Option 2) disable ignition, place breaker bar and socket securely on crank bolt, position so it won't destroy anything when it hits the wheel well, and try the starter quickly. The starter will do all the work, and you will have a loose crank bolt.
All the oil pump cover bolts should be 12mm head, and you're home free. You can even press the main seal into the oil pump cover before you replace it on the engine.
