Your measurements are for coarse setting, just to get to a starting point for alignment.
If you want to diy alignment, you can buy a measurement rod that takes a reading between the backside of the front tires and then compares that to a reading at the front of the rims.
Or you can use the string method, that I use. Wrap a thick cord tightly around all four tires just below any interfering bodywork and tie it securely(enlist a helper). Since you're toed out, you should see a gap of more than 2mm at the back sidewall of each front tire. Turn front wheels to get the gap even on both sides. Then extend the rods evenly on both sides until the gap is about 1mm on each side(about the thickness of the string I use). A quarter turn on a tierod makes a significant difference, so be gradual.
When gap is even at 1mm you will have about 2mm total toe-in. 2mm gap is about zero toe in. Some like zero toe but on the highway it can be slightly "darty." If you go more than 2mm toe-in, you will wear the outer edges of your tires. I used trig calculations from Saab wheelbase specs to figure the proper gap.
Once toe is right, drive car and see if the wheel is straight ahead and if the car leads to the right or left. If no lead, you can adjust the tie rods by equal and opposite amounts to center the wheel. If it does lead slightly, i normally toe out the wheel opposite the direction of the lead., e.g. right lead toe out left wheel slightly (5-10 degrees max of tie rod rotation). Once you get the hang of it, your will never need a machine alignment.
