The drop you notice when the AC switches on indicates that the idle control motor is definitely not doing its job. I would check to see if you are getting a signal at the AIC valve. Can't remember the specification but it is something like 5V at idle (?). If there is no signal i would check all the wiring back to the ECU for faults. If everything checks out then i would look at the ECU
I have what i believe to be a faulty ECU on my 1989 900t. It experiences an intermittent condition where the idle will be correct for a couple of days (or weeks) and then for no apparent reason go up to about 1200 rpm (the "limp home" position). Like you i have no leaks, new AIC, functional throttle switch and a clean throttle body. A check of the AIC leads revealed no voltage during these episodes. A restart of the car would almost always cure this however. I strongly suspect that the components in the ECU that control the AIC are starting to fail.
