The quick & dirty emergency way to get it closed (unless the toothed cables were damaged or something else is mechanically awry) is to clamp your hands on the top and bottom of the panel and push it forward while somebody is pushing the sunroof close button with the car running. That should give it enough force to get it closed.
The electric sunroof mechanism on a C900 is a dirt-simple system. It has a motor/gearbox and two toothed cables that push and pull the assembly forward and backwards.
It's possible that, when they installed the new motor, they didn't quite get the cable alignment right, and the sunroof binds towards the end of its travel. The motor/gearbox assembly is in the back of the spare tire compartment. When you pull up the cover, you'll see 2 10-mm bolt heads on the rear flange, to the right of the center. Take those off and you can swing the motor/gearbox towards the front. There's an H-shaped clamp, secured by either 1 or 2 bolts, that holds the two cables. Loosen the bolts enough that the cables are free of the internal gear, and have somebody push the sunroof all the way forward, then resecure them. That *may* take care fo the problem.
If they had to open up the sunroof for some reason, there might be a loose or misaligned guide, but at this point, that's a longshot.
If it was a new used motor, it might have a bad gear.
