Get a short piece of wire and jump between fuses 27 and 30 with the ignition off. You should hear the fuel pump buzz. If not, you probably have a bad pump, since the wiring normally is OK. Under the rear compartment floor you will see 2 covered ports. The one on the left is for the fuel pump. Pull off the cover and make sure that the pump wires are connected. Have helper jump the fuse 27 to 30 as before, while you check for voltage at pump. If you have voltage the pump is bad.
If the pump buzzes with the direct power via the fuse jump, you should check for spark. If you get a tach bounce when you turn the ignition key to start, the basic ignition should be OK. If none, suspect the ignition module and/or hall effect sender in dist(if turbo) or crank sensor if EZK ignition.
I would clean the main ground connections at the radiator crossmember and the the trans case.
