Scott,

I have listed the CV and finally sold it, but made almost nothing on it when you look at what I had to put into it to get it ready for sale. The local buyer will surely be happy with it, but I really got my wife mad when she saw how many hours and money went in and what I got out. It may be that there are a lot of convertibles for sale at any one time. Now 3dr turbos, especially late models (90-93) are really hard to find that are not wrecked or rusty. I am prepping a 3dr which is VERY nice, but with quite a few miles on it. I will list it in the classifieds when I get it ready. I will be testing the waters with this. I have also seen a few on teh classifieds which have been resurrected/restored to a certain extent and they seem to sell. It just depends on how much time you have to wait for the right buyer and what you have to put into it to get it ready to sell. Most of these need A/C, ball joints and tires to start. With that you are at 800-1000 in parts just to get started and then there are all the rest of the bits and pieces you will need. The cost just goes up from there. These are old enough that most owners no longer 'maintain them'. As things break or cease to work, they are just left like that and pretty soon you are into a lot of cash and time. Above and beyond this, the biggest problem is finding good cars to start with. I wrecked my '92 and needed another. It took me 4 months to find one at a reasonable price that was not rusty. People seem to be asking 4k for a car with 150kmi, some rust and questionable maintenance. Ones that are not rusty, regardless of maintenance history, go for more. In the end I found 2 and will sell one of them.
