Are you suggesting that you are going to attempt replacing that braided section? Unless you have a crimping tool specifically for that job you won't be successful just using any combination of hose clamps. I've never heard of anyone successfully replacing that section without use of the proper specialized equipment. It's much easier to just replace the entire line from MC to slave. It is possible to splice in a section of 1/4 o.d. flexible aluminum or copper tubing by using 1/4 compression fittings at each end after cutting off the crimped sections. I've done that successfully, with the only side effect being that you hear the engine and transmission noises that much more, and you won't be able to do any clutch work without seperating the clutch fluid line from the slave cylinder. It is an ideal temp fix if you are in a pinch like I was.
