replace you thermostat and fan thermo-switch ASAP before something very bad happens to your head/gasket! don't ask me how i know... my baby is almost all back together and ready to roll as soon as my new exhaust bolts come in the mail, but do yourself a HUGE favor and don't end up blowing it like i did. i didn't even actually neglect it. as soon as i noticed right away that my car was overheating, i got it home and changed thermostat and fan switch and then went for the test drive to be sure everything was ok and just after i got onto the freeway and the turbo boost kicked in, a harsh reality dawned upon me that i had just blown my head gasket and i nursed it home, constantly revving the engine up so it wouldn't stall and leave me stranded. so it made it home and then that was the last of it's movements for a while until very very soon from now. it's a good thing, though that i got my head all redone and the valves done, etc. anyways, not trying to send bad luck your way, but just consider this standard procedure. please don't warp your head! as much as i hate to admit it, i'd probably change my head gasket 4 times a year if i had to and be happy to drive my SPG. weird how these cars seem to have this affect on people. anyways, good luck, and if you're overheating, pull over and cool down. i wish i'd have done that when it got really hot as i was getting off the freeway by my house when it first started heating up, but i was only four blocks or so from home, so i kept it running and coasted most of the way home, but i should've just pulled over and let it cool down no matter where i was... oh well live and learn. l8r
