JohnK,
A while ago you posted a reply about a sticky ABS relay. Is this a common issue? Or could it be a flaky pressure sensor, and can that be change w/o changing the entire unit?
This weekend I had the ABS visit. Just driving along, Charlotte to our house. ~ 2 hr.s. Out of the blue both brake indicators come on. After that I got about 12 applications of the brakes, then hard as a rock with little effect.
Get it to home, unpack, etc. look at things: turn the Ign on, about 5 sec the lights go out, perform the pump test; 15 pumps before hard, (the accumulator & fluid is < 1 yr old).
Wonderful; can't fix it if it's not broke.....
Sunday, Lowes, Home Depot, etc. Lights are back after 1/2 hr, good, get it to the house while still broke;
pump not running;
power off & back on
pumps ruuning, lights go off at ~ 5 sec, pump is still running, and running, and running.......... The little thing is really working hard now; it sounds like it's struggling, and the accumulator is shaking like crazy.
I wacked the pressure sensor w a screwdriver handle, no response, wiggle all the connections, no response, finally I pull the pump relay, pump stops (of course), plug it right back in, pump stays stopped. Hmmmm,
