Dave,
The mounting brackets are fairly straight forward. I chose to make my own brackets as they are much stronger. I used flat iron roughly 1/8 or 3/16 thick by 1.5", mounted them in a 90° jig and filled the angle with weld material and ground off the excess. I suppose you could go and buy a 90° angle iron. I wasn't sure of the lengths (and still don't know of the exact mesurements) but I trimmed and cut them during installation using a ceramic blade on a skill saw.
As for mounting the brackets....there are 2 bolts used for the current mounting brackets for under the bumper. I mounted the new brackets in the same location using the same bolts. Be careful not too over tighten because these are aluminum threads in the bumper.(I striped one). The bracket will then fit through small spacers below the grill above the bumper. Perfect amount of room for the brackets...and very clean looking. Drill and trim accordingly. I did also have some trouble because the mounting bolts for the lights were too long so these were trimmed as well so they wouldn't bite into the bumper.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Kirk
