I'll check the junkyard first and be sure to try to sneak the pre-pump with it (thanks for the hint).

ONe day I drove it a bit, parked and then it wouldn't start. It would turn and fire ocassionally but would not run. I towed it back and went to check on it the next day. It started and ran which was disappointing because if it ain't broke, I can't fix it. I figured I'd jump the fuses between 27 and 30 just to feel like I was doing something and the pump was whirring away. I drove my '85 for a few days and then decided to drive the '89 again since I had time to diagnose if it died again. Luckily, it didn't start, I jumpered the fuses and got nothing.

Looks like I'll be going to the junkyard this weekend.
