Bill,
Already removed drivers seat, console and shift housing.(used hammer and screw driver on "frappin nuts") Took shift housing apart and figured out how to remove gear set.(Before removing gears you may wand to mark them or take a photo of their location).
My problem was not the key cylinder but the tab at the bottom of the cylinder had sheared off and I couldn't see how the gear it was attached to came off. After getting some sleep I realized that the other gear under the electrical part of the switch held on by a clip had to be removed first so the broken one could pivot all the way around and just drop out of the bottom of the cylinder. Depending on what you find you may not have to take gears off. However if you have done all that work it may not be a bad idea to order and change the gear set. I'm ordering the gear set from SAABSITE in the AM. I think I'm also going to remove the reverse lock to prevent further trouble. Thanks for your response and if I can answer any questions related to what I've done already just post me.
Eddie
