Head gaskets often go at 150-200k miles, so I'd inquire whether the headgasket has been replaced. If not deduct $1000. I would look for a turbo car with a 5sp. If auto, has trans been rebuilt/repalced? If not, deduct $1500 unless car has well under 100k miles.
A/C operation is an issue. "Just needs a recharge," is BS and means there's a leak. If A/C doesn't work deduct $700.
With key to run and engine off, listen for ABS brake pump. Once brake warning lights have gone off(key still at run) pump pedal several times. If the warning light comes on after 5-6 pumps, the ABS accumulator is weak. Deduct $500. If light doesn't come on until about 10 pumps, it's OK.
Front end clunks are typical but not major...balljoints, bushings, etc. You probably know about all this from your 900. Same thing for lumpy steering...ujoint or rack.
